Our Process
Destruction and Removal
We can remove the existing pavement surfaces, including concrete, asphalt, or pavers, using heavy-duty equipment. We have forklifts, compact bobcats, front loaders, and dump trucks to complete this task. Deconstruction sites typically collect and dispose of a large amount of debris. Old asphalt can be sent to recycling facilities to be turned into new asphalt, but don’t forget the worth of used asphalt; recycled and repurposed, used asphalt retains all the strength and vibrancy of the original.
Preparing the Base
An essential part of every asphalt surface is the sub-base. The sub-base stabilizes the surface and supports the pavement. During the winter, the sub-base forms a barrier to mitigate the effects of freezing.
Undercutting, Proof Roll, & Sub-Base Repairs
The underlying surface becomes more potent and long-lasting with the help of proof roll. We use quad-axle dump trucks and drive them across the whole surface, row by row.
Surface Course & Binder
We apply the binder and fix any weak spots after the sub-base is added. The aggregate in the binder layer contains solid elements, like oil, to give it thickness and durability.
Sloping and Grading
In order to create a surface that is suitable for an effective water drainage system, our network of experts use cutting-edge technology. Pavement won't survive long if it can't drain water, no matter how good or durable it is. Water is a major culprit in many forms of road damage, including potholes and cavings. We will prepare the slope, grading them using automatic motor graders and laser-guided transits.
Asphalt Paving Surface Installation
Once all supporting structures are in place, it’s time to apply the asphalt! Asphalt is usually a mixture of gravel, sand, and oil. Regardless of the asphalt variety, the final product is always thick and dark in color. We will use our expertise to achieve a bright, polished finish.
Transitions & Butt Joints
Any road, driveway, or parking lot with an asphalt surface will always have a connection to it. We use butt joints at the intersection of old and fresh asphalt to make the transition smooth to passersby and to provide for proper water run-off.
The final roll using a roller truck makes the newly installed asphalt compact and smooth. It also removes any bumps of stone pointing through the new surface.
